Judith (Disabled) and Garven Wright Wright (Carer) - Queensland

Judith a Disability Aid Dogs Trainer

Judith is a Grade Five International Dog Trainer - (the highest grading possible), along with her husband Garven Wright, another Grade Five International Standards Dog Trainer, they operate for us as Independent Trainers.  We are proud and fortunate to have these twoGarven WQright, another Disability Aid Dogs Trainer. highly qualified dog trainers with us.  Both have taken extensive courses with us, also passing very high level accreditation examinations, in written, practical and panel examinations.

Disability Aid Dogs do not easily give accreditation to any dog trainers, as they need to have a solid understanding of how to handle disabilities and associative issues.  These brilliant trainers are also very polished at understanding one of Disability Aid Dogs most critical qualifications, understanding how to train both the disabled person and their dog as a team, also working intensively with their carer.  Judith has been training, showing and breeding dogs - (mostly Collie Dogs but now very involved in Saint Bernard's) -  this woman has spent over half a century both loving and understanding her beloved Canine Companions, then, over the past six years, now become our pride and principal Queensland Assistance Dog Trainer.

Rhana Smith - Disability Aid Dogs Trainer

This woman is a brilliant animal behaviourist, having done formal courses in Whale Training -  also a highly respected and recognised Horse Trainer, having changed the lives of countless children and horses alike, with her indelible insight and drive "TO CARE".

Rhana has been accredited by us for over six years, even with her unenviable abilities , she still needed to pass a very comprehensive 'Accreditation' process with Disability Aid Dogs.

Having shown formal and recognised competency in every field of Animal Behaviour and Assistance Dogs and Team Training - doing all the similar examinations for Disability Aid Dogs as has Judith and Garven, Rhana is without argument, the most highly qualified trainer and behavioural specialist that we as an organisation have ever worked with.

Rhana is a rare talent, hard worker, often pushing through her own severe disabilities to crown other disadvantaged and disabled people, frequently working with children, with the very rare ability to become independent, or simply feel loved and cared for.  Rhana is our new Executive Director Of Training - Managing Director and Chairperson - She is now our new General Manager, and works with us as we do with her - Her Words Are - WE CARE!

"We Care"

DAD - The Father Of Freedom

Our Founders

Alex and Connie founded Disability Aid Dogs on February 16th 1994.

In the past 16 years or more, they have sacrificed their life savings, now living on a pension as seniors - Alex now the Secretary and Legal Officer of the company and still assisting the disabled.

Now "winding down", these seniors are still very much a part of Disability Aid Dogs.

Alex recently suffered a mild stroke and is recuperating slowly, but still spends much time and energy in his new postings as our "Company Secretary" and "Executive Legal Officer".

A Sad Note

Danny Boy Passes Away

This legend and wonder dog passed away on Monday 28th September 2009.  He was dearly loved by everyone and will be sadly missed.

Danny was a cancer detection, medical alert and epilepsy alert dog, not to mention the much loved companion to Alex and Connie.

We Remember this animal with great pride and love!
